Just 48 hours after the biggest game in world football concluded, Nike has already made large movements ahead of the 2018/19 season with the launch of a brand new silo; the PhantomVSN.
Replacing the Magista; this new silo is hear to revolutionise the control boot market and the PhantomVSN is designed from the inside-out to provide ultimate comfort and enhanced control.
By designing this boot from the inside to out, they have produced a new structure to the boot which will then be used throughout Nike footwear in the future. An internal ‘Quadfit’ structure has been designed to provide support in all directions. It does this by using four axes of fibers to lockdown onto the foot. How does it work? Well, the fibers provide a unique orientation as well as seperation and this distributes load and mitigates friction.
Nike have added a Ghostlace system. After consulting with players, they found out that players want a laced boot so they can custom the feel but would like it low key. The boot seems laceless, but it is not.
A Nike FlyKnit upper has been used on the boot and this, as usual, provides increased control on the ball. This new silo replaces the Magista naturally but the PhantomVSN focuses on the game from a more attacking point of view due to it’s traction plate being designed to accomdate quick changes in direction.
Keep a close eye on Nike’s channels for this one. And get ready to see the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Philippe Coutinho tear up world football in them.
